Castelli Elemento 7x(AIR) Jacket - Women's White/Black, XS
Castelli Elemento 7x(AIR) Jacket - Women's White/Black, XS
$299.95 $149.98
Ladies, do you find yourself wanting for a winter riding jacket that is warm yet lightweight? A jacket that is designed for you and not the pink and shrink version of your male riding partners? Castelli's Elemento 7X Air Jacket sets a new standard in women's jackets, balancing light weight and stretch with breathability and warmth. Although its Maggia jacket provides warmth and flexibility for cold weather riding, Castelli invented the 7xAir fabric which is just as warm as the Windstopper X-Fast, but more breathable. It is a multi-layer fabric that bonds a fully wind and waterproof external shell to a fleece inner layer. The result is an extremely stretchy wind-resistant fabric. The stitch used to bond the layers, however, creates permeability for a continuous exchange of air from the inside to outside of the fabric. This carries away moisture keeping you dry. The only downside is that rain will come right through the perforated stitches. While we wouldn't wear it in a downpour, the jacket is treated with a DWR (Durable Water Resistant) coating and will shed light spray. In addition, the Elemento jacket features WindShear inserts at the shoulders and arms, the spots that are hit worst by chilling wind. A flip-up, Thermoflex collar keeps your neck warm, and jacquard elastic at the hem keeps the jacket from shifting up over your hips exposing your back to the cold. And, because Castelli knows that women ride as long as men do, the Elemento includes three generous rear pockets and reflective tabs for those days when the sun seems to set too soon. Designed specifically to fit women, the Elemento was tapered at the waist to reduce fabric bulk and given proportionately narrower shoulders. At the same time it pulls down over your hips so that you won't have to tug at it every time you stop at a light. The Castelli Elemento Jacket is available in sizes X-Small to X-Large and in the colors: White/black, Green fluo/white, and Black.

Castelli Elemento 7x(Air) Jacket Black/Black, S - Men's

In the realm of cycling, there isn't another season where deliberate apparel choices are more important than in the winter months. Balancing the seemingly contrasting demands of warmth and breathability is especially challenging when the temperatures dip below freezing, but the Castelli Elemento 7x(Air) jacket accomplishes this task admirably. By blending air permeable 7x(Air) fabric with panels of the windproof WindShear material, Castelli has achieved an optimum balance of protection and ventilation. And with the stretch fabric panels, the Elemento achieves a degree of comfort that's rarely seen in jackets with such a slim fit. Your winter training rides just got considerably more comfortable. Arguably, the most intriguing storyline with the Elemento jacket is its blend of fabrics. After all, without thoughtful venting and remarkable stretch, achieving this degree of comfort with the race fit simply wouldn't be possible. The 7x(Air) portion of the name belies the 7x(Air) fabric, which of course, is a Castelli exclusive. It's so named because it's seven times more air permeable than the WindStopper fabric that's found in Castelli's other cold-weather jackets, yet just as warm. Accordingly, it's employed in about 50% of the jacket, in areas that require the greatest degree of heat evacuation, like the underarms. The rest of the jacket, specifically the chest and back panels, are built from Castelli's WindShear material. Both materials are built to stretch, enabling a slim, flap-free fit. As previously mentioned, the Elemento's slim fit is noteworthy, not only for its aerodynamic properties, but for its insulation and comfort as well. Obviously, minimizing any unneeded material in the pursuit of a quiet ride pays dividends when turning every last watt of your energy into forward momentum. But, by reducing bulk, the amount of dead space in between your core and the jacket is minimized, which allows your body to efficiently retain heat. And since the cut is backed...
